QRS provides specialist archaeological consultancy services to development projects in Namibia that need to comply with the provisions of the National Heritage Act (No. 27 of 2004).  We provide services to the mining sector, power and water utilities, non-government and international organizations. With more than 30 years experience in archaeology and environmental assessment, we offer efficient planning, budgeting and delivery of archaeological services to internationally recognized standards.

QRS has carried out almost 200 impact assessment, survey and excavation projects documenting well over 1 000 sites that represent more than one million years of archaeological history. We maintain a comprehensive database and GIS archive of known archaeological sites in Namibia.  We deliver assessment results as reports, presentations, web-based or academic publications, and will also develop training or on-site management materials, including posters, pamphlets and manuals.

QRS offers detailed desk assessment, project planning and fieldwork services.  We provide tailor-made field assessments, ranging from reconnaissance surveys to high-intensity cover, based on foot traverses, remote-sensing and predictive modelling of archaeological site distributions.  We carry out test excavations as well as full site investigations and assist the client in developing appropriate archaeological mitigation strategies, compliant with national legislation and company or lending institution standards.
